This Brighton and Brandon's Beach are north of Bridgetown and the beginning of the West Coast. This an exceptionally long stretch of white sand, with only minor breaks of rock or reef and nestled by calm, clear warm waters. Brighton Beach for its subdued surf and amazing reefs. Bell Buoy and Silver Bank reefs are two of the most well-known on Barbados for snorkeling and swimming. Watch out for sea urchins in some areas near the reefs.
There is a some activity on this beach it is also a great spot to get away from the tourist scene, since there are no major resorts nearby. Brighton Beach is home to the Malibu Beach Club where Day Passes are available for tours of the Rum Distillery. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. There is also Weisers On The Beach, which has a casual atmosphere, music, conversation and local Caribbean food.
There is an area at Brighton Beach known as the "Hot Pot" (see left). The sea there is heated by pipes, which come from a nearby factory. Some people, who enjoy the warm waters, take pleasure in bathing there, although most are not too keen on this beach. The area is subject to some dangerous currents an in any case isn’t the most picturesque area of Brighton Beach.
